What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a self-regulation training for the brain. At NeuMind Neurofeedback, we use a highly advanced neuro-technology called NeurOptimal® which is 100% safe and completely non-invasive. NeurOptimal gives the brain feedback based on it's own electrical activity which is read through a live EEG, or electroencephalogram. Because the brain is being given very early and precise feedback about what it is doing, it learns to function more effectively and efficiently. Neurofeedback training for the brain is similar to physical training for the body.

Who Is It For?

  • adults & children of all ages

  • students

  • veterans

  • seniors

  • business professionals

  • creatives

  • athletes

  • performers

  • people recovering from addictions

  • those in treatment for, or post-treatment for cancer

  • basically, anyone with a brain

  • improve sleep

  • increase mental acuity

  • balance emotions

  • elevate mood

  • enhance athletic performance

  • improve academic performance

  • enhance creativity

  • increase resilience

  • reduce cravings and more...

How Does It Work?

NeurOptimal provides the information your brain needs to correct and adjust yourself. The brains has an inherent ability to self-correct when given the right information. NeurOptimal® gives the brain the feedback it needs to function optimally. The brain is designed to do this on it's own but illness, trauma, daily stressors, toxicity, hormonal changes, life events and repeated patterns of thought, feeling and behavior can interfere and throw us emotionally and cognitively off-balance.

A Mirror For The Brain

Using NeurOptimal® is like holding a mirror up to the brain. Imagine that you have not seen yourself in a mirror in a long time...

Once you see your reflection, you automatically start adjusting yourself. You stand up taller, straighten your tie, adjust your hair, etc…

Because you saw your reflection, you were able to make adjustments that you weren't able to previously.

Helping The Brain Make Better Decisions

Inconsistencies and abrupt changes in the electrical activity in the brain undermine it’s ability to function optimally. Our technology detects these abrupt changes and informs the brain of these sudden shifts through interruptions in the music that you are listening to. These almost imperceptible pauses are the feedback that invite your central nervous system to pull away from the less-than-ideal path it was on.

Your Brain's Natural Self-Correction

This happens over and over until the natural self-correction becomes YOUR NEW NORMAL. The result is a more efficient, effective and comfortably functioning brain. Better brain function generates healthier sleep patterns, improved ability to focus and resist stress, which results in an overall easier life - despite the inevitable challenges from the outside. Training with NeurOptimal® allows your brain and you to become more resilient and coherent. A better brain makes for a better life.

Is Your Brain Functioning Optimally?

Some signs that your brain is functioning less than optimally:

  • memory problems

  • poor performance on tasks

  • difficulty sleeping

  • feeling low or sad

  • difficulty paying attention

  • overactivity

  • anxiousness

  • addictions

  • headaches

  • low immunity

  • irritability

  • chronic stress and overwhelm

What Sets NeurOptimal® Apart from Other Forms of Neurofeedback?

NeurOptimal maximizes your brain's natural ability to regulate itself and perform at it's best. It's not a medical treatment. It is a training or learning process for the brain. It does not push the brain towards certain states like many other forms of neurofeedback. Rather, it offers your brain the information that it needs to regulate itself.

  • 100% safe

  • non-invasive, nothing goes into the head

  • works with your brain no matter where it is

  • requires no conscious effort on your part

  • does not require a diagnosis

  • you cannot do it wrong

  • you cannot overtrain

How Many Sessions?

Just as learning to read, or ride a bike is a process and we each learn at a different pace, so everyone’s central nervous system is different. It is impossible to predict exactly how your brain will respond to the information NeurOptimal® provides. All the same, you should know within a few sessions if it is helping you. And we have progress tracking tools to help you document your training. Also, with over three million hours of NeurOptimal ® usage worldwide, we are able to make some predictions. We have an in-depth survey that you can review, which indicates how many sessions it has taken large numbers of people to see improvements for a wide variety of complaints.

How Many Sessions (cont'd)...

How many sessions depends upon your goals, too. If you are training to feel better quickly, you might decide after 10-12 sessions that you have made enough gains and stop. On the other hand, if you are looking for lasting changes, 20-30 sessions is a better ballpark. The good thing is you can stop at any time and always pick it up again later if you so choose. Any training you have done in the past will always serve you well should you do more sessions in the future — no session is ever wasted. For some however, training their brain is like training the body. They want to function at their best throughout their lifetime, and they like to maintain that best even when life presents its inevitable day to day knocks and bruises. After a period of initial training those clients may continue with monthly sessions to give their brain a regular opportunity to “defrag”. Or, like many of us, they just do a session when they feel they need it. But in the end, it is always up to you, because it is YOUR brain that is doing the training and it knows what it needs.

Do The Shifts Last?

Again, no session is ever wasted.

Anything the brain has learned is not lost. Neuroptimal Neurofeedback is a learning process, like learning to ride a bike or learning how to read: Once you know, you can’t “not know”, so the effects do remain with you.
